Nestled among apple orchards, chestnut groves, and forests, you can set off on foot from here. You’ll quickly reach stunning viewpoints, idyllic spots, and cosy Buschenschenken offering delicious local South Tyrolean dishes.
One of the hotspots near us is the hill of St. Hippolyt, an easily accessible excursion spot offering expansive views all the way to the Dolomites. From our hotel, you can reach the famous hill with a leisurely 50-minute hike.

Just a 20-minute walk from us is the charming village of Prissian, home to many historic landmarks, castles, and ruins waiting to be explored.
Among them is the Castle of Katzenzungen, dating back to 1244, where you’ll find the largest and possibly oldest vine in the world. You can also visit the ruins of Casatsch Pfeffersburg, offering a stunning view of the Etschtal valley. Additionally, the Zwingenburg and the Wehrburg are located in Prissian.
The small mountain village of Grissian is just a short drive away. Situated at an altitude of 800 metres, it offers beautiful hiking trails and spectacular views down into the valley.
Here, you can discover the Church of St. Jacob, dating back to the 13th century. It impresses with a unique detail: the first depiction of the Dolomites! Additionally, you’ll find frescoes from the Marienberg School, among the most significant Romanesque artworks in South Tyrol. In summer, you can sign up for an exciting guided tour at the local information office.
The small village of Gfrill, located about 4 km above Tisens at an altitude of 1,050 m, offers a stunning view of the Dolomites. One of its highlights is the Church of St. Nicholas, dating back to the 13th century and expanded in the 16th century, featuring well-preserved wall paintings.
A family favourite is the Rainguthof Wildlife Farm, a traditional mountain farm with dwarf goats, sheep, wool pigs, donkeys, and many other animals – a true paradise for children!
Lana has so many inhabitants (around 12,000) that it could almost be considered a city. From our location, you can reach Lana in just a 15-minute drive. This idyllic village is perfect for leisurely strolls and indulgence: walk along the Waalweg to the waterfall, and stop by the many bars and cafés as you wander through the village. Here, you’ll also find charming boutiques and shops.
In addition, Lana is home to a golf course set amidst apple orchards and vineyards at the Brandis Estate.

The Lana Golf Club is nestled between apple orchards and vineyards and was designed by the renowned designer Michael Pinter. The 9-hole course lies at the foot of the Brandisburg ruins and, thanks to the mild climate, is playable almost year-round.
Also nearby is the Golf Club Passeier.Meran in the Passeier Valley, an 18-hole panoramic course considered one of the most beautiful in the Alps, regularly hosting tournaments.
You can reach the spa town of Meran in about 20 minutes by car from our location. As you stroll along the arcades, a smile will naturally appear on your face: it’s simply beautiful here! Along the way, you’ll catch glimpses of shop windows: “Wow, that hat would look great on me!”
